Water passes through seven stages: sediment, pre-carbon, an RO/UF membrane, pH balance, sanitization, a nutrient boost that adds calcium and magnesium, plus potassium, and a final taste and odor polish. The RO/UF membrane handles metals and dissolved solids, arsenic included, and the carbon stage is what takes out chlorine.
