Hidden costs of bottled water delivery
A delivery company’s headline rate is rarely the whole bill. At ReadyRefresh’s published maximum, four deliveries add $80 in fees before any water. Costs to look for, at its upper limits:
- Delivery fees: up to $20 per delivery, plus up to $20 more for certain delivery dates
- Late-cancel fee: up to $8.99 for cancelling a delivery on less than 24 hours’ notice
- Bottle and account deposits: up to $40 per bottle and up to $100 per account
- Cooler upkeep: you clean it every three months, and cancelling can add up to $50 for reconditioning
- Price changes: rates hold for two months or the initial term, whichever is less
- Minimum orders: the supplier can set a minimum delivery, which adds cost when a slow stretch cuts your use
Bottled versus bottleless water quality
Plenty of offices assume jug water beats what bottleless coolers pour. Often it does not, since jug water can start as municipal tap water too. What differs is what happens to it on the way to the cup.

Who should switch to bottleless, and who is better off keeping the jugs
Switch from bottled delivery if your office uses jugs week after week, has a water line near where the cooler would go, and expects to be there longer than a few months. Keep the jugs for a temporary space under three months, or when no water line is within reach of the break room.
